Strengthening Women's Economic Empowerment Through Sustainable Skills Development
Economic empowerment is a cornerstone of sustainable community development. Recognizing the critical role of women in driving social and economic progress, the Global Brotherhood Foundation (GBF) partnered with the Al-Karim Local Support Welfare Organization (AKLSWO), Taus, Yasin, to establish a vocational tailoring center that equips women with practical skills, productive assets, and pathways to sustainable livelihoods.
As part of this initiative, 20 sewing machines were provided to create a fully equipped training facility where women receive comprehensive instruction in tailoring, garment production, and entrepreneurship. The center serves as a long-term community resource, enabling participants to acquire market-relevant skills that increase their employability, strengthen household resilience, and promote financial independence.
The initiative is designed to deliver outcomes that extend beyond vocational training. By combining technical education with access to essential equipment, participants are empowered to establish home-based enterprises, secure employment, and diversify household income. This approach reduces economic vulnerability, enhances women’s participation in local markets, and strengthens the capacity of families to invest in education, healthcare, and improved living standards.
